Gossip Girls
Gossip girls, Gossip girls,
Motor mouths that rule the world
Spreading rumors with a whisper, into ears drop bitter pearls.
Harvesting their bitter pearls from the sea of other’s sorrows
Cast their nets today, for the bait they’ll use tomorrow.
Feasting on the misery from lives of other folks
Masking viciousness, with a wink, and twisted jokes.
When I decided not to gossip with you anymore
Forget the box… I opened up Pandora’s door!
To the closet where my skeletons and secrets kept,
A heavy lid on the past where my pain slept.
So then you spread all my business out there to the world.
Yeah I was hurt, but I knew you were a gossip girl.
You exposed my stuff wide screen for them all to see…
Flashed me your fake smile… what… now you’re my frienemy?
I’m getting smirks from co-workers that we used to Dog!
They treat me funny, like some kind of backside log.
They’re passing looks over cubicles with eyebrows raised
I know the deal, I used to do it, Man those were the days.
Those were the days when I was too afraid to tell you “STOP!”
Before an ugly word from your mouth was ever dropped,
About another and the struggles they were going through.
It ain’t my business, I’m doing me, they’re doing them, you should be doing you.
Not nosing around in the scent of other peoples lives…
“Child did you hear about the latest, and it ain’t no lie…
“He’s freaking him. She’s freaking her. They’re freaking both their wives!”
Now that’s some rotten stuff, it’s funky, and it’s sorry too.
I should have known better than to play that game with you.
The dog that brings a bone will ultimately snatch and crack,
A piece of your bone, and stab you with it in the back.
How can you pass all those judgments on your fellow man?
He’s on his hustle, trying to make it, doing the best he can.
You cop a “tude” when you see them riding their new whip,
Check your shoulder, that’s not dandruff, just a nasty chip!
A chip that WILL get knocked off, if you keep that gossip going.
What benefit is it to you, people’s business knowing?
And in the telling do you Honestly believe you’re spared?
The one you gossiped with, left you and your business shared.
Shared your struggles with another one who plays the game
One who gossips recklessly, pretends to feel no shame.
But late at night when sweet quiet soothes and calms the world
She regrets the day, that she became a gossip girl.
XOXO!!!

Long Story Short...
Long story short…
The first thing I noticed was the strength of his thighs
I looked up and was struck by the slant of his eyes
I was shy so my eyes took a dip to his hips
My mouth went dry when I noticed him licking his lips
I stood up and started shifting from side to side
In a blink he was next to me in one smooth stride
I covered my face cause my jaw went slack
As I noticed him checking me out from the back
The sun dimmed when he showed his sparkling grin
He was eyeing me hard and stroking his chin
He was so fine my mind just couldn’t believe
The admiration from this man I had just received
We boarded the bus at the end of our day
His eyes clearly locked on me, the entire way
The world seemed to shift as my heart did a drop
When I saw he was getting off at the next stop
I thought “Dang it always seems to happen like this.”
I changed my mind when he caught my eye and blew me a kiss
I thought this is the end of our moment so sweet
But I was wrong once again, for again we did meet
In a funny circumstance at school the next day
When he noticed me across campus from far away
He waved and yelled, “Wait!” as he ran to catch up
I tried to flee, but I didn’t move fast enough
He caught up when I was just about to open the door
To my class, he made a pass for my number, and scored
Not just my telephone number and curiosity that day
But my heart as well, for then I was in all the way
We started out as friends, it’s been twenty four years, And
Now he’s my six babies daddy and yes my husband.
How can pain douse the flame that once burned so strong?
How did what we thought was right go so incredibly wrong?
How does the brilliant shine of dreams fade into dismal grays then black?
How does friendship that was tight, lose it’s grip and fall slack?
Can we ever build a bridge across the gaping abyss?
Were the little hurts we stuffed away the clues that we missed?
Are the days of long ago when we called each other “Friend”
Overshadowed by our bitterness, now signaling the end?
It’s as hard as hard can be for me to say good-bye to you
But my sanity’s at stake, so it’s what I must do
To regain my peace, my happiness, and be my better self
To be what you said you wanted, I put me upon the shelf
I will never hate you, Ever, for the better part of “We”
Are the one’s we’ve made together, we were blessed you must agree
In their genes they carry promises that we could never taste
But the times we shared together were not at all a waste
For the things I thought would kill me, showed me that I have the strength
To walk and run the distance, to stretch and to reach the length
Of heights I couldn’t imagine, one’s only God could see
To be all that God Himself has created me to be.
“Smooches Dahling” on our parting, no it’s not a godfather’s kiss
And the things I’ve written here are in no way meant to “Diss”
You, or me or what we had, life is what it is, So then
Maybe…
One day with out pain or strings attached, we’ll call each other friend…again.

Pimp Daddy in the Pulpit or (PDP) Pt.2 getting to
Angel slipped her jacket back on just before church service ended. Devlin helped, hugging her tenderlly about the shoulders. She smiled absentmindedly, knowing she needed to get to Pastor James Conman quickly before he left the premises. He never stayed long after service at the New Way Church of Belivers lately. He had to jet across town to preach at Old Zion, his brother Jeffery Conman's church. Pastor Jeff was away from his post for 'personal' reasons, and James stepped in for him. When they reached Devlin's Audi in the parking lot, Angel once again excused herself and went to find Pastor James. She was desprerate to get some help with Honeybaby.
Janette 'Honeybaby' Mackie was a wild 17 year old living with Angel. Angel was only 24 herself, and looking after Janette was wearing on her nerves. Their 'soul ties' from the past was what made her feel she was obliged to look out for Honeybaby, especially with what happened to little Kate those years ago.The sleek burnt sienna Jaguar almost hit Angel, as Pastor James backed out of his parking spot. 'Schreeeech!' " Oh my goodness Sister Angel! I didn't see you there. Are you alright baby?" Pastor asked, stomping his brake. He turned off the ignition, his heart raced but he was grateful for narrowly avoiding a potential lawsuit. " I'm fine Pastor, just fine." She responded still trembling.
Something stirred inside Pastor Conman, as he noticed through his rear view mirror, the lovely Angel standing there shaken and trembling. He eased out of the driver’s side door with extended arms welcoming her into his embrace. She just stood there, taking in slow deep breaths, desperately trying to regain her composure. Pastor James was quick to her side, holding her and whispering ever so softly in her ear, " It’s okay Angel baby, Pastor James is here. It's alright. I've got you. I've got you." His embrace tightend as her breath steadied, and his lips brushed her cheek. Angel stiffened, politely pulling away from him, saying "I'm fine Pastor really. I should have paid better attention to my surroundings."
"I wanted to talk with you about Janette." Angel sighed with an anguished plea. "She's becoming more distant and difficult to deal with." "Hmph, Honeybaby's acting up again huh?" Pastor Conman asked. "I know you girls have a history Angel, but are you sure you want to continue on with this burden? I mean you aren't much older than she is, and yet you care for her like she's your own child." he said. " I don't want you burning yourself out, trying to solve someone elses problems, before getting your own straight." He softened his tone then, "I don't intend to seem so harsh about it" he cooed, easing his arm around her again, " It's time for tough love now baby." Angels shoulders drooped sadly. She knew he was right, but the thought of not being there for Honeybaby was still painful.
Looking up into Pastor Conman's eyes, Angel asked "What do you recommend Pastor?" " I'll help you Angel. Give me a few days to make a couple of calls, and we'll see what we can do." he replied pulling her close again. "Thank you Pastor. Whatever needs to be done to help Honeybaby, 'Any thing,' I'm willing to do." she said stepping away. James smiled to himself. He definately liked the sound of that. "Anything" was one of his favorite things to hear a woman say; Especially one as fine as Angel. Looking at his watch he blurted " Oh my goodness look at the time. I've got to get out of here, or those saints at Old Zion are gonna have my hide!' he said laughing. "I'm so sorry for keeping you Pastor." Angel said appologetically. "It's cool, I'll stop by to see you soon about Janette, Angel." he said getting into his car, turning the ignition. Angel stepped aside, waved goodbye, and headed back to Devlin. "I'll be waiting." she called over her shoulder.
Devlin sat in the car with a disgusted impatient look on his face Angel noted, as she approached him. She decided to turn on the charm, she eased into the car with a sly sexy smile saying " Hey Dev, thank you for being such a patient sweetheart. I know that took longer than we expected. How can I make it up to you?" When he heard that, Devlin's face lit up and he drove off, thinking of the best way to try and get her to 'make it up to him!'

mad moment interlude
the skeleton of a marriage feasted on by the muscular jaws of a looming divorce.
it sucks to be at this point in time. we hate each other.
i just want him gone. he just wants me to kick around.
too afraid to leave too miserable to stay so we suffer.
i refuse to continue to suffer this way. i've got to get him out of here.
Lord please let him get out of here. the pain of his presence is soul stripping.
i told his behind to go eat hot nigga nuts and die.
oh Lord please forgive me for my wayward mouth.
i want to be better than that for you.

I know what you did last Sunday...Um Hm
I know what you did last Sunday...Um Hm
I know what you did last Sunday... um hm, cause I was doing it too.
I know how you prayed for and blessed the folk, who were not so kind to you.
I know what you did last Sunday... um hm, after a difficult week.
How all that possibly could go wrong, piled up like a mountains peak.
I saw you resist temptation, how you wrestled with lust and pride.
How you fell to your knees and asked for God's help, and trusted you'd not be denied.
I heard you cry out to Jesus, when your family and friends let you down.
How humbly you told them you needed their help, and none of them could be found.
I know what you did last Sunday, and Monday through Saturday too.
You were up at the alter praising and praying, I saw you, cause I was there too.

it's time again
it's time again
it's raining again. he's at it again.
he's cussin and rageing and fussin again.
he's killing his folks with his words again. he slaughters his own with his tone again.
he's mean again. he's green again, with envy and pride and with greed again.
they,re sad again, and mad again. they wilt from his wrath, they were bad again...well so he said.
they cry again. he sighs again. they all feel the pain as they die again.
they all dance this stupid dance again. they glide and they dip and they prance again. he leads again, they follow again. they all move along in the trance again.
the them of the they call it post traumatic. they don't know their normal is damn dramatic. i feel again, to heal again. it's not just a story but real again.

A parable against the de valuation of me Pt.1
There once lived a girl in a harried woman’s world
She reasoned as a lamb amongst the lion’s
With her gentle simple ways
She would navigate the days
With loving faith in the Lord of Zion
She was covered by his love
Bathed in glory from above
Yet below, in the earth where she resided
Temptations flourished there
Flesh alive to sin aware
Raged a battle for her soul
Her mind divided
Ernest seeking for relief
From the searing touch of grief
That held her, a captive prisoner slave
She then tasted slop of pigs, in pretense that slop was figs
The forbidden fruit in lust her palate craved
Eyes now blind from sin’s deceit
Sightless wandering, her feet
Left the narrow path, and trudged the crooked road
Bearing all her worldly cares, all the ones that Christ did bear
She retrieved, suffering beneath the load
In a moment of despair
She cried out a groaning prayer
In utterance, no one could understand
Except the Savior from above
Filling her with holy love
Cast away her cares
And took her Fathers hand
He embraced her to his breast
Gave her sleepless nights a rest
Traded rusty hairclips, for a crown of gold
And the legend of her sins
That would surface time again
Swallowed in the sea, no more to be retold.
