Dealing

Dealing

tip... tip toe around the subject

the time has come for us to just discuss it

the fracture's clear

the break up's near

the truth is LOUD,

we can no longer hush it.

i shared with you that lately i'm not happy

you said to stop my whining, don't be sappy.

i said thats part of the reason, we've suffered past our season

you said my point of view was just plain crappy.

at the end, how dim the glow, of love that once shined bright

to bed i go, my back i show, my tears they flow all night,

sleep bears no rest, i do my best,to turn the wrongs to right.

this morning, i awoke to see me smiling

i smiled at you, so natural, not like trying.

i bid you well,

no more to tell

HELLO, new life, HELLO,

no more goodbyeing.

Baby Girl Blue

Baby Girl Blue

Baby girl at age two all dimples and smiles,

Batting her lashes perfecting her wiles.

Lit up any room that she chose to walk in,

Melting your heart with her sweet little grin.

Daddy's delight, and Mama's joy,

Eight years old charming and coy.

Sassy and smart could outrun any boy,

All before she was ten.

At age fourteen a runaway child,

Rough, tough, meek and mild.

A vision of beauty, a sight to see,

She's out on her own , and she still isn't free.

Baby girl, baby girl what happened to you?

And what are the changes your young life's been through?

Who turned off the light that once lit your eye?

Who stole all your laughter and left you to cry?

Silent screams unheard in the night,

Secrets kept enforced with fright.

"He was too big and I just couldn't fight."

Is all Baby girl would say.

Baby girl what you're saying I hope isn't true

But your life is all torn, and you are so blue

I was only nine when it happened one night,

Momma at work, and dad out of sight.

Uncle came in he turned off the light.

He was too big and I just couldn't fight.

Baby girl, Baby girl, don't drown in your tears,

Don't chase off all hope with your runaway fears.

The pain of the past is an evil chain,

And the tears of forgiveness a cleansing rain.

The night doesn't last and the dawn is sure,

To wash away hurts, sorrows and more.

Look into my eyes for here you will see,

That you'll always be sweet Baby girl to me.

it's time again

it's time again

it's raining again. he's at it again.

he's cussin and rageing and fussin again.

he's killing his folks with his words again. he slaughters his own with his tone again.

he's mean again. he's green again, with envy and pride and with greed again.

they,re sad again, and mad again. they wilt from his wrath, they were bad again...well so he said.

they cry again. he sighs again. they all feel the pain as they die again.

they all dance this stupid dance again. they glide and they dip and they prance again. he leads again, they follow again. they all move along in the trance again.

the them of the they call it post traumatic. they don't know their normal is damn dramatic. i feel again, to heal again. it's not just a story but real again.

Pimp Daddy in the Pulpit Pt.1

Devlin accepted her invitation to church. He figured it would score Brownie points with his current lady of interest. Angel was grateful to God that he came to church with her. She knew personally that whatever was going on with him, God's love could fix it. As they entered the sanctuary, he watched the way she interacted with people around them. She tried to introduce him to some of the church members, but he grew increasingly antisocial. She lead him to a seat, politely excused herself, and continued to meet and greet the saints. The sanctuary quickly filled to capacity, as Angel found her way back to her seat beside Devlin. She smiled warmly saying " You've got a treat coming Dev, praise and worship is awesome here!" He nodded his head, giving a half smile saying "If you say so, We'll see." "Oh and the way Pastor Conman preaches the word; He's not just a preacher but a teacher!" She said excitedly. The smile left his face as he thought, " Aw man, she's one of them blind sheep chicks, lead by any hustler preacher coming down the road." His invisible anti religious armour plating quickly formed around his mind, like some sort of transformer robot. "Man I can't believe I'm going to spend at least two hours trapped in here with these holy rollers. DANG!" he flustered. The service began, the room grew silent as a call to corporate prayer was issued. A reverent hum filled the church. Angel took Devlins hand in hers, bowed her head and prayed silently. He didn't bow his head ,just looked around in disbelief at all the " suckers" he thought, who fell for all this religious stuff. Angel gently squeezed his hand, as tears eased from her eyes. He looked at this woman with the beautiful tear streaked face, and remembered why he found himself in this place. They met at work. Devlin liked the way Angel carried herself. She had an aire of dignity. She wasn't prideful or boastful he noticed. He appreciated how she seemed to possess a quiet strengh. She didn't gossip around the water cooler like some of the other women in the office, she'd smile, exchange greetings, and go on about her business. "Hm..." He thought, " She looks like an interesting challenge for a super brotha like me," he chuckled to himself, and made it his goal to get to know this woman. Devlin observed Angel for a few days, clocking her comings and goings; what time she got into the office, and when she left. Angel usually came to work early, and left late. He found out when she took lunch and what she liked to eat, colorful healthy looking stuff. She would leave five minutes before lunch break was over to get back to her desk on time, which was just across the hall from the lunch room. This woman was diligent, she worked when it was time to work, no wasting time in socializing too much. He wondered what she did for fun, if she allowed herself some fun. She must do something, he thought, cause she keeps a genuine smile on her face. He'd made his rounds in the office pool of women, there was someting very different about this one. Devlin walked into the lunchroom one day, when he knew Angel would be there, pretending to search the vending machine for something to munch on, he muttered "Hm...what's it gonna be today?" At first he carried on like he hadn't seen her sitting there quietly in the corner. With a slight turn he feigned surprise when their eyes met and said " I'm sorry, I didn't realize I wasn't alone. It's just that I get so caught up in my work sometimes, I forget to eat." he lied. Angel replied " Oh it's perfectly fine. I hope I didn't startle you?" "Got her!" He thought to himself with a sly smile." The fish is on the line, time to reel her in!"

To be continued....

A parable against the de valuation of me Pt.1

There once lived a girl in a harried woman’s world
She reasoned as a lamb amongst the lion’s
With her gentle simple ways
She would navigate the days
With loving faith in the Lord of Zion
She was covered by his love
Bathed in glory from above
Yet below, in the earth where she resided
Temptations flourished there
Flesh alive to sin aware
Raged a battle for her soul
Her mind divided
Ernest seeking for relief
From the searing touch of grief
That held her, a captive prisoner slave
She then tasted slop of pigs, in pretense that slop was figs
The forbidden fruit in lust her palate craved
Eyes now blind from sin’s deceit
Sightless wandering, her feet
Left the narrow path, and trudged the crooked road
Bearing all her worldly cares, all the ones that Christ did bear
She retrieved, suffering beneath the load
In a moment of despair
She cried out a groaning prayer
In utterance, no one could understand
Except the Savior from above
Filling her with holy love
Cast away her cares
And took her Fathers hand
He embraced her to his breast
Gave her sleepless nights a rest
Traded rusty hairclips, for a crown of gold
And the legend of her sins
That would surface time again
Swallowed in the sea, no more to be retold.

Thigh meet

Okay so I get on a too crowded bus, tired and praying for a seat. I had caught the bus to another area in my town to a park beside a lake to take a breezy walk. The walk was great and would usually energize me, but the sun was so hot, and I didn't have my hat or umbrella or shades. Needless to say my enthusiasm to get out of the house in a hurry was not well prepared. So by the time I'd done my two laps on the walking path around the lake, I was burnt inside and out. I had to wait a half an hour for the bus to come as well. When the bus finally arrived I barely had the strength to climb aboard, but if I hadn't, I would have passed out from heat stroke.
Anyway I get on the bus and find a seat, "Oh joy!" next to 'I really don't care by this time'; But when I sat down... our thighs met. Electricity! We both wore shorts, so it was flesh on flesh contact...um um um. He let out an "ooh" as the expanse of my hips settled in beside him on the seat. His muscular hairy thigh was cool against the heat of my own. He edged over a bit and asked " Are you comfortable?" I nodded my head yes, as I looked into eyes that sparkled like the lake water. This guy was so handsome, I had to catch my breath. "Um hm," I replied and asked "Are you?" "Oh I'm fine" he said, then smiled "just fine now!" I grinned then marvelled at his brilliant smile.
"I like your dimples," he said, " You have a million dollar smile, if I may say so" he blushed. I blushed too. "You may, and thank you for saying so." I responded trying to control my heart beat which had amped up it's rhythm by now. We sat there for a moment, just checking each other out. I flushed with embarassment and looked away. He pressed his thigh against me again, firm yet tender. More Electricity!
I looked up to the front of the bus and realized that my stop was next. I sighed with dread at the thought of leaving this handsome stranger. As I prepared to get up, I awkwardly blurted " My stop is next." looking at him with a sideways glance. "Aw man," he said, like a dissapointed child, "I have seven more stops to go." He leaned over and whispered in my ear, " Please Ma'm, forgive me if this seems forward, I mean no harm or disrespect; but Lady you have the softest skin, and it feels so good against mine." My eyes widened, as my emotions teetered between feeling a bit flattered and uncomfortable, from his straight forward admission. I didn't say anything. I pulled myself up, walked to the back of the bus waiting for the doors to open and set me free. As I stepped off the bus, I looked back over my shoulder, through the tinted bus windows, to where he sat. He looked at me and blew a kiss. I looked away. As I waited for my next bus to arrive, I pondered how your day can make a strange turn, when thighs meet.
